Business Owner/President:
Hello! I’m Karen Craven, OTD, OTR/L, OTPP, CDRS, founder of Optimum Living Inc. One of the things that drew me to occupational therapy over 30 years ago was a strong emphasis on the whole person and the factors that influence our ability to find satisfaction and purpose in life. The art and science of occupational therapy has at it’s foundation the belief that humankind derives personal meaning in the activities and roles in which we engage. When physical, psychological, cognitive, and social dysfunction occurs, the ability to participate is interrupted and life satisfaction is consequently altered. Occupational therapy uses meaningful activity in a therapeutic relationship with the client to regain or improve the ability to participate in meaningful activities and roles. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of helping people get back to doing the things they valued most. I’ve been able to use my skills in creative problem solving, advocacy, activity analysis, and facilitation to help people achieve greater levels of performance and participation in occupations across the range from self-care to home management to grocery shopping to return to work. Unfortunately, I have seen the medical model and current reimbursement systems also limit what, where, and how we as occupational therapists can address independent living skills and community reintegration with our clients. I founded Optimum Living Inc. in the Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky and Southeastern Indiana areas for clients who aren’t satisfied with their occupational performance so they can gain optimum living.
At Optimum Living Inc, we are focused on providing individually tailored services with the highest levels of customer satisfaction & we will do everything we can to meet your expectations. Look around our website and if you have any comments or questions, please feel free to contact us. We hope to have the opportunity to partner with you.
